Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Assistant to join our Operating Room team. The role supports the surgeon and acts as first/second assistant or second circulator under RN supervision. Various shifts and scheduling options are available to fit lifestyle and career goals.

We offer a $5,000 sign-on bonus for full-time or part-time positions and relocation assistance for moving 50+ miles. The ideal candidate has an OR scrub background, Surgical Technology credentials, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or certificate in Surgical Technology with current BLS.
• Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) or CST or licensed surgical assistant equivalents.
• 2+ years operating room scrub experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains sterile environment and asepsis.
• Coordinates supplies and equipment for efficient operations.
• Performs intraoperative assisting and scrub duties as needed.
• Performs preceptor duties and teaches students or residents.
• Assists nurse in planning patient care and room turnover.
