Job summary

Michigan Medicine is seeking a 35% clinical and 65% administrative APP Manager to provide leadership for PA and NP teams within the Surgical Services divisions. The role combines clinical duties with strategic planning, staffing, and program development across inpatient and outpatient settings.

Responsibilities include performance evaluations, education programs, compliance with policies, and collaboration with physician leadership to optimize care models.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in Michigan or equivalent Nurse Practitioner licensure in Michigan.
• ARC-PA accreditation for PA program and NCCPA certification.
• DEA registration and state Controlled Substance license where required.
• BLS certification; ACLS may be required depending on privileges.

Responsibilities

• Oversee APP teams across multiple surgical service lines including inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Lead staffing, performance evaluations, and professional development; drive quality and safety initiatives.
• Monitor billing practices, reimbursement, productivity, and utilization metrics.
• Ensure compliance with institutional policies and state/federal regulations.
• Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, and scheduling of APPs; maintain open communication with leadership.
