Job summary

UNC Health in Chapel Hill, NC seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (PA/NP) Manager with strong leadership and clinical excellence to oversee APPs, supervise APP Supervisors, and collaborate with the APP Center and department leadership to optimize APP strategy and workforce planning.

The role balances administrative (20%) and clinical (80%) duties, with responsibility for ensuring credentialing, privileging, policies, and regulatory compliance, while driving performance improvements and workforce

Qualifications

Master’s-level degree or higher from an accredited AP program.
Current APP state license(s) and appropriate APP board certification(s).
3+ years of APP clinical experience with at least 2 years in APP leadership.

Responsibilities

Designs and implements an APP strategy to optimize APP utilization.
Monitors APP performance metrics (productivity, utilization, access, quality) and enforces clinical policies.
Leads recruitment, onboarding, and mentoring of APP workforce; manages schedules, PTO, and payroll in department guidelines.
Supports budgeting and forecasting for APP resources and education on billing and documentation.
Mentors APP staff and students in leadership, clinical excellence, patient-centered care, and quality improvement.
