Rippowam Animal Hospital in Stamford, CT is looking for a Surgical Veterinary Technician to join our dynamic, compassionate team!

Why You'll Love Working With Us

For over 60 years, Rippowam Animal Hospital has provided high-quality veterinary care to the Stamford community. Voted Best Veterinarians of Stamford for 8 consecutive years, we offer progressive, comprehensive medicine and surgery—while maintaining a culture that feels more like family than coworkers.

We’re a collaborative, tight-knit team that believes work should be meaningful, fun, and full of opportunities to learn. Whether we’re building a mini golf course for our DIY tournament or cheering each other on in team competitions, we make time to celebrate each other and create a workplace where you belong.

The Role: Surgery Veterinary Technician

We’re seeking a veterinary technician with at least 3 years of experience, and at least 1 year of surgical experience. CVT is a plus, but not required. If you’re a fast learner who is passionate about surgery, we’re happy to provide training for the right candidate.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Placing IV catheters and administering premeds
  • Monitoring anesthesia and managing surgical patients
  • Performing post-op care and recovery
  • Assisting with interesting cases like foreign body surgeries, orthopedics, TECAs, and more
  • Participating in monthly spay/neuter clinics for local rescues—these are fun, high-energy days!

What Sets Us Apart

  • Supportive Leadership: Our hospital manager is passionate about mentoring and helping you grow in the areas that excite you most.
  • Team Longevity: Many of our technicians have been with us for 2–7 years—we foster careers, not just jobs.
  • Flexibility & Work-Life Balance: We offer flexible scheduling options (Monday–Friday) tailored to your availability.
  • Fun Culture: DIY mini golf tournaments, team-building games, and lots of laughter—our team genuinely enjoys spending time together.

What We’re Looking For

  • A team player who jumps in wherever needed and supports your coworkers
  • A reliable technician who values attendance, accountability, and long-term growth
  • Someone who is curious, passionate, and eager to learn
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a variety of cases
  • Competitive pay: $20–$28/hour, based on experience
  • Full medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401k with company match
  • Paid time off, holidays, and sick time
  • Generous employee pet care discounts
  • Disability and life insurance

Located in Stamford, CT, we’re easily accessible and part of a vibrant, welcoming community.
