Job summary

MedVet is seeking a Surgery Veterinary Technician to support our fast-paced surgical team and collaborate with surgeons and staff across departments. This role focuses on post-operative care, client communication and accurate medical recordkeeping.

Ideal candidates will have a state-registered veterinary technician license (preferred), prior veterinary and surgery experience, strong math skills for dosing and charges, and the ability to adapt to varying shifts in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• State Registered Veterinary Technician license preferred.
• Prior veterinary experience required, surgery experience preferred.
• Proficient in calculations for drugs, infusions and conversions.
• Flexible with work hours and able to work extra shifts when needed.

Responsibilities

• Manage appointments, obtain patient histories and maintain records.
• Fill medications, enter charges and schedule appointments.
• Create patient releases and discuss treatment plans and costs with clients.
• Prepare patients for surgery and assist with procedures and imaging.
• Perform blood draws and submit bloodwork.
• Ensure documentation is accurate and complete.
• Open, clean and maintain operating rooms and instruments.
