Job summary

MedVet in Huntersville, NC is seeking a Surgery Veterinary Technician to support our surgical team in a fast-paced emergency and specialty hospital. This role offers exposure to anesthesia, postoperative care, and collaboration with surgeons and clients.

You will manage appointments, medical records, invoicing, patient discharges, and assist with surgeries, blood draws, and imaging. Strong communication, accuracy, and teamwork are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• State Registered Veterinary Technician license (preferred).
• Prior veterinary experience required; surgery experience desired.
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, CRIs, unit conversions, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Manage appointments, obtain patient histories, medical record keeping, invoicing, patient discharges, etc.
• Fill medications, enter charges and maintain accurate medical records, schedule appointments
• Create patient releases, navigate client conversations around treatment plans and financial obligations
• Prep patients for surgery, including shaving, scrubbing and positioning, assist with intubation and radiographs
• Proficiently perform blood draws and submit bloodwork
• Ensure documentation is accurate and complete
• Opening, turning over and cleaning operating rooms, as well as cleaning instruments and wrapping packs
