Job description

Medical Center is seeking a Locum Cardiothoracic Surgeon for coverage, including clinic, OR, and 24-hour call. A locum-to-perm arrangement is also preferred.

Open Dates:

• All of June & July 2025

Details:

• Coverage start date: June 2025
• Practice Setting: Office, Hospital, OR, Rounding
• Call Schedule: After office hours and weekends
• Trauma Level/Designation: N/A
• Number of Operating Rooms: 1
• Documentation System/EMR: Epic
• Patient Age Demographic: Adults 18+
• Scope of Services Required: Adult Cardiac Surgery, General Thoracic Surgery

Required Duties/Procedures:

• Aortic Surgery: Descending Aortic Aneurysms
• Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery: CABG, Redo Coronary Revascularization (with or without Heart Valve Surgery), Arterial Revascularization (using Internal Mammary Arteries, Radial Artery, and Gastroepiploic Artery), Pericardial Window, Tube Thoracostomy, Thoracic Aortic Aneurysms
• Thoracic Endoscopy: Flexible and Rigid Bronchoscopy, Lung Resections, Pneumonectomy, Chest Wall Resection and Reconstruction, Mediastinal Surgery
• Vascular Surgery: Heart Valve Repair/Replacement, Heart Valve Replacement with CoreValve System, Mitral Valve Repair

Credentialing & Submission Requirements:

• Estimated credentialing time: 90-120 days; Emergency temporary privileges available for December 1 start
• MUST include "ALL" during the name for clear identification
• Board Certification (American Board of Thoracic Surgery) - REQUIRED
• Active VA license & DEA - REQUIRED, no exceptions
• BLS/ACLS - REQUIRED
• Fellowship Training - REQUIRED
