This is an excellentopportunity to work within a well-supported hospital-based program thatutilizes Epic for documentation.

Practice Scope &Responsibilities

• Provide Adult Cardiac Surgery and General Thoracic Surgery services
• Mix of clinic, operating room, inpatient rounding, and hospital consults
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team including cardiology, pulmonology, and critical care services
• On-call coverage for emergent and urgent cardiothoracic surgical cases after office hours and weekends
• Perform diagnostic evaluations, surgical interventions, and postoperative care management for adult patients (18+)

Schedule

• Monday - Friday : 7 : 00 AM - 3 : 30 PM (Clinic / OR)
• 24-hour call coverage (Weekday evenings and weekends)
• Weekend call required

Required Duties / Procedures

Aortic Surgery Procedures(Required) :

• Descending Aortic Aneurysms

Coronary Artery BypassSurgery Procedures (Required) :

• CABG
• Redo Coronary Revascularization (With or Without Heart Valve Surgery)
• Arterial Revascularization (Using Internal Mammary Arteries, Radial Artery, Gastroepiploic Artery)
• Tube Thoracostomy
• Thoracic Aortic Aneurysms
• Flexible and Rigid Bronchoscopy
• Thoracotomy Lung Resections and Pneumonectomy
• Chest Wall Resection and Reconstruction

Vascular Surgery Procedures(Required) :

• Heart Valve Replacement Without Surgery ( CoreValve System )
• Mitral Valve Repair

Requirements

• Board Certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery
• Fellowship training in Cardiothoracic Surgery
• Active Virginia Medical License
• Active DEA license
• BLS and ACLS (AHA certified)
