Job Opportunity: Locum Cardiothoracic Surgeon in Portsmouth, VA

Join a dynamic healthcare facility in Portsmouth, Virginia, where we are seeking a talented Cardiothoracic Surgeon for locum coverage! This role involves working in a multi-faceted practice setting that includes clinic, operating room, and rounding. Your expertise will help provide essential surgical care, with the option for locum to permanent placement. The facility boasts a supportive and collaborative environment, making it an exceptional place to practice medicine.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform a range of cardiovascular surgical procedures, including:
  • Aortic Surgery Procedures: Descending Aortic Aneurysms
  • Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery: CABG, Redo Coronary Revascularization
  • Thoracic Endoscopy: Flexible and Rigid Bronchoscopy, Lung Resections and Pneumonectomy
  • Vascular Surgery: Heart Valve Repair/Replacement
• Manage patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Participate in a 24-hour call schedule, including weekends.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation using the Epic EMR system.

Qualifications:

• Board Certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery (REQUIRED)
• Active Virginia state medical license and DEA (REQUIRED)
• BLS and ACLS certifications (REQUIRED)
• Completed fellowship training in cardiothoracic surgery (REQUIRED)
• Available for coverage dates in July 2025
• Submission of case logs with presentation is mandatory.

License and Certification Requirements:
