Job summary

Nemours Children’s Health in Jacksonville, FL, seeks a Surgery Scheduling Supervisor to oversee the scheduling team across ambulatory settings. You will coach staff, manage timekeeping and schedules (including remote staff), and ensure coverage and workflow continuity.

You will monitor KPIs, optimize OR utilization, and drive patient access and experience while collaborating with nursing and administrative leaders. A degree and relevant experience are required; Epic experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires an associate degree; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years of healthcare scheduling, surgical coordination, or ambulatory operations experience.
• Minimum 1–2 years of supervisory or lead experience preferred.
• Experience with EMR systems (Epic preferred) and patient access workflows required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the surgery scheduling team, ensuring accuracy, productivity, and service standards.
• Coordinate surgical schedules across operating rooms and ambulatory centers to prevent conflicts and optimize utilization.
• Monitor KPIs such as scheduling accuracy, OR utilization, call response times, service levels, and patient access metrics.
• Lead, coach, and develop staff through training, performance management, and feedback; manage escalations with clinical teams.
• Analyze scheduling data and trends to identify opportunities for improved efficiency and access.
