Job summary

University of California, Irvine Health is seeking a team-oriented scheduler to organize surgical cases, verify funding, and coordinate documentation. The role requires interaction with clinic staff, admissions, OR teams and physicians to communicate schedules and changes effectively.

The incumbent will ensure accuracy of medical paperwork, maintain patient flow, and support timely surgical planning within a large academic health system.

Qualifications

• 1+ year recent experience registering patients in a hospital or clinic.
• Experience with computer registration and registration scheduling system.
• General knowledge of ICD9 and CPT codes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.

Responsibilities

• Schedule clinic patients for surgery and verify funding coverage.
• Ensure all required medical documentation is completed prior to surgery.
• Serve as a liaison among clinic, admissions, operating room, physicians and patients.
