Responsibilities

  • Schedule all procedures (in-patient and/or out-patient) daily.
  • Screen and direct telephone calls; respond to patient schedule inquiries.
  • Coordinate patient services and registrations across Centers.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all communications and data handling.
  • Coordinate cancellations and rescheduling; monitor daily schedule progress.
  • Communicate with physicians, office staff, and department managers as needed.

Job description


  • Schedule all in-patient and/or out-patient procedures daily

  • Screen and direct telephone calls

  • Schedule patient services for all Centers

  • Provide detailed information on services and resources across multiple departments

  • Interview patients and obtain necessary information for registration

  • Update patient pre-registration

  • Coordinate cancellations and rescheduling

  • Respond to calls regarding patient schedules or status

  • Monitor daily schedule progress

  • Handle calls within three rings according to customer service standards

  • Inform management about patient complaints or service concerns

  • Maintain confidentiality in communications

  • Coordinate needs and communicate with physicians, department managers, office staff, and other departments

  • Identify and implement problem solutions

  • Participate in process improvement efforts, meetings, work-related classes, and coworker orientation

  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as needed

  • Focus on safety, quality, and efficiency as part of a High Reliability Organization


Requirements


  • High School or GED (Required)

  • Knowledge of medical procedures

  • Basic computer and typing skills

  • 2 years experience in a healthcare setting or 2 years scheduling experience

  • 2 years secretarial or unit clerk experience

  • Candidates must live in the state of Ohio

  • Ability to occasionally come into the office despite the remote arrangement

  • Ability to verify demographic and insurance information

  • Knowledge of medical procedures and terminology

  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all communications
