Job summary

Banner Health's Desert Ridge Gastro Clinic in Scottsdale is hiring a Surgery Scheduler. This role schedules surgical, cardiovascular or obstetrical procedures using a computerized system, enters patient charges and orders, and acts as a liaison between staff, patients and families.

You will work Monday–Friday with start times between 7:30a and 8:30a. Training is planned before our opening in early 2027, and you will work at Desert Ridge then Hayden Rd Scottsdale as Banner Medical Group expands

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required with 2 years of medical clerical experience.
Knowledge of medical terminology and payor contract terms.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital central scheduling setting.

Responsibilities

Coordinate case times for elective, urgent, or emergent surgeries in scheduling system.
Acquire authorization numbers and review medical records for procedures.
Type and print physician orders; manage block time and releases.
Enter lab, imaging orders and patient charges; compile reports.
Conduct charge audits and correct discrepancies as needed.
Greet and assist patients and families; relay information among staff.
Enter facility work orders and arrange instrument maintenance.
Maintain confidential information and support a smooth workflow.
