Job summary

OrthoAtlanta, LLC in Macon, GA is seeking a Surgery Scheduler to manage surgical calendars, coordinate with OR staff and providers, and ensure timely patient care.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of healthcare experience, knowledge of insurance processes, and proficiency with electronic medical records (Epic preferred). This on-site, full-time role offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Schedule surgeries, procedures, diagnostic tests, and follow-up appointments per physician orders and patient needs.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for surgical patients, providing information and answering questions.
  • Coordinate with Surgical Assistants, operating rooms, and providers to ensure availability of staff, special equipment, and materials.
  • Confirm insurance authorizations and ensure all necessary documentation is in place.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate schedules in the electronic medical record system.
  • Collaborate with front office and clinical staff to ensure smooth transitions of care.
  • Enjoy helping patients feel informed and supported.
  • Know how to stay calm and collected when juggling multiple tasks in a fast-paced medical office.

What You'll Do

As a Surgery Scheduler at OrthoAtlanta, you’ll:
