Job summary

OrthoAtlanta in Macon, GA is seeking a Surgery Scheduler to manage outpatient surgical schedules on-site. This full-time hourly position offers competitive compensation and benefits, with a patient-centered focus and collaborative team environment.

You will coordinate surgeries, coordinate with staff and providers, confirm authorizations, and maintain EMR accuracy to ensure smooth patient journeys and timely care. Excellent communication and organization are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of healthcare experience.
• Working knowledge of medical insurance and terminology.
• Experience with electronic medical records (Epic preferred).
• Excellent attention to detail and time management.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Schedule surgeries, procedures, diagnostic tests, and follow-up appointments per physician orders and patient needs.
• Act as the primary point of contact for surgical patients, providing information and answering questions.
• Coordinate with Surgical Assistants, operating rooms, and providers to ensure availability of staff, special equipment, and materials.
• Confirm insurance authorizations and ensure all necessary documentation is in place.
• Maintain detailed and accurate schedules in the electronic medical record system.
• Collaborate with front office and clinical staff to ensure smooth transitions of care.
• Enjoy helping patients feel informed and supported.
• Know how to stay calm and collected when juggling multiple tasks.
• Can keep calm and collected in a fast-paced medical office.
