Job summary

HCA Healthcare's Lebanon Center for Outpatient Surgery in Lebanon, Tennessee is seeking a Surgery Scheduler to manage patient scheduling for a busy ambulatory center. You will work closely with physicians, medical records, and nursing leadership to ensure accurate codes, proper documentation, and a smooth daily schedule.

The role emphasizes coordinating with the OR team, obtaining needed approvals, and communicating open slots to physicians. A medical office scheduling background is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience in a medical office setting.
• 1 year of Medical Scheduling highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain CPT and ICD-10 codes and other clinical information for physician's office.
• Prepare documentation for Medicare notices and inform physician offices.
• Complete chart requests and notify materials or nurse manager of needed equipment.
• Determine duration of surgeries and coordinate with OR nurse for a streamlined schedule.
• Maintain the center block schedule and arrange anesthesia coverage.
• Call or fax offices to notify of open times for additional cases.

As a Scheduler for our surgery center, you will be responsible for proving and contributing to the company’s mission, vision, and values by scheduling patient’s surgical procedures and maintaining the surgery schedule.

What you will do in this role:

• You will obtain CPT and ICD-10 diagnosis codes and other clinical information as required by the physician’s office
• You will prepare documentation for Notification of Non-covered Medicare Services or Advance Beneficiary notices to patients and notify physician’s offices about these procedures
• You will complete chart requests from Medical Records and notify the Materials Manager /Nurse Manager of any physician requests or special equipment needed for upcoming surgeries/procedures
• You will determine the duration needed for surgeries in the operating room and work with OR nurse to ensure a daily schedule is streamlined
• You will maintain the center block schedule list and arrange necessary anesthesia coverage
• You will call/fax physician’s offices to notify them of any open schedule times that may allow for additional cases to be taken at the center

What Qualifications will you need:

• Minimum one year of experience in a medical office setting.
• 1 year of Medical Scheduling highly preferred

Lebanon Center for Outpatient Surgery is located in Lebanon, Tennessee. We are easy to reach from I‑40 and the Nashville International Airport. Our facility is new and includes two operating rooms and one procedure room. We are an ambulatory surgery center, and we expect to grow quickly in the coming months.
