Position Overview

The Surgery Coordinator is a key member of the Insurance Authorizations department, managing the entire process for patients undergoing complex surgical procedures such as SCS trials and implants, Vertiflex implants, SI Joint Fusions, NALU/Sprint Peripheral Nerve Stimulators, Intracepts, VIA DISCs, and more. The ideal candidate will possess strong sales skills for cross-training on call campaigns and excellent customer service skills to ensure positive patient interactions.

Responsibilities

• Pull EMR reports and input data into Excel sheets, tracking patients scheduled for complex procedures
• Communicate patient financial responsibilities
• Answer patient inquiries regarding procedures
• Coordinate psych evaluations for patients, upload results to EMR
• Add patients to surgery schedule within EMR (eClinicalWorks)
• Coordinate with team members and stakeholders about scheduled procedures, updating EMR and tracking sheets
• Arrange for replacement equipment for stimulators when needed

Skills and Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
• Attention to detail and commitment to HIPAA compliance
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10 coding, and pre-certification protocols

Education and Experience

• Experience with eClinicalWorks required
• Minimum 1-year healthcare experience, preferably in Pain Management
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent preferred
• In-person position in Lawrenceville, GA

Additional language skills in Spanish, Korean, or Vietnamese are a plus.
