Job summary

Great River Health is seeking a perioperative nurse to provide patient care on a regular basis and collaborate with patients, families, physicians and other healthcare disciplines. You will help manage the surgical schedule, staffing, and quality initiatives, acting as a resource to the nursing department.

The role requires strong communication, time management and leadership skills; co-chairing staff meetings and contributing to improvement plans are included.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in nursing (ADN) required.
• Prefer Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field.
• Health care experience within the last five years preferred.
• OR experience preferred.
• Electronic documentation/ keyboarding experience preferred.
• IV Conscious Sedation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care on a regular basis and communicate with patients, families, physicians and care teams.
• Manage surgical schedule operations, staff schedules and assignments; oversee staff development.
• Support quality monitoring and implementation of improvement action plans.
• Co-chair department staff meetings and participate in agenda preparation.
