Position Overview
Jefferson Health Northeast seeks an experienced and visionary Chief of Vascular Surgery to lead our vascular team in delivering cutting-edge, patient-centered care. This role offers an opportunity to shape the future of vascular services across our Northeast division and to drive the growth of an integrated, multidisciplinary vascular program. The ideal candidate will demonstrate clinical excellence, a passion for patient care, and strong leadership abilities to foster a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive culture.

The Position

  • Reports to the Chair, Department of Surgery (clinically), Jefferson Medical Group Administrative team.

Assists the Department Chair in the performance of his/her duties, including:

  • Responsible for and accountable to all professional and administrative activities within the Division;
  • Ensures the implementation of a systematic process for monitoring and evaluating the quality and appropriateness of patient care and treatment provided by the Division, as well as the clinical performance of all individuals with clinical privileges;
  • Maintains ongoing surveillance of the professional and clinical performance of all individuals with privileges in the Division;
  • Develops criteria, including Practitioner Specific Quality Profiles, for evaluating members' ability to perform privileges requested and current competence (OPPE/FPPE);
  • Recommends criteria for clinical privileges to the Medical Staff;
  • Recommends clinical privileges for each Department member;
  • Defines and monitors the fulfillment of other academic and administrative duties as required by academic relationships with medical, dental, or podiatric schools;
  • Coordinates and integrates interdepartmental and intra-departmental services;
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures to guide and support care, treatment, and services;
  • Recommends space and other resources needed by the Department or service;
  • Advises administrative leadership on equipment, new programs, and services necessary to grow patient volumes;
  • Manages the vascular surgery clinician team to ensure appropriate inpatient and outpatient coverage;
  • Attends Medical Staff Meetings;
  • Monitors office patient volumes to ensure appropriate clinical wait times for both office and surgical care.
