Job description

A well-established facility is seeking a Board-Certified General Surgeon to join its locum coverage pool beginning in Quarter 4 (October December). This role offers hospital-based coverage only, with 24-hour EMTALA call shifts and minimal after-hours clinic support.

Opportunity Highlights:

• Coverage Schedule: 1 week/month (24-hour shifts, 7:00 AM 7:00 AM)

• Start Date: Q4 October through December

• Setting: Inpatient hospital-based only

• Average Volume:
  1 3 surgeries/day
  2 4 consults/day

• Support Staff: CSTs, RNFAs, First Assists experienced and well-rounded

• Operating Rooms: 12

• EMR: Epic

• Robotics: Available for credentialed providers

• Trauma: Minimal (consult-driven)

• Pediatrics: Optional typically limited to minor soft tissue procedures

• Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 120 days (onboarding begins in June)

Requirements:

• Board Certified in General Surgery (ABoS) Required

• Active Kentucky Medical License Required
