• Non-profit affiliation of four medical facilities in the White Mountains Region of New Hampshire
• Job title: General Surgeon
• Job type: Direct hire (permanent)

• 25 bed Critical Access hospital, where you will work alongside a 50 member medical group with approx. 20 doctors practicing full time.

Job Summary:

• Seeking a full-time (4.0 or 4.5 days/week) board-certified General Surgeon.
• Offers the broad scope of practice typical of a rural, community surgeon.
• Provides office-based general surgery services to patients of all ages, both new and established.
• Initial consultations for common general surgery concerns.
• Performs minor procedures, educates and counsels patients and families, orders diagnostic tests, refers to other specialties, and communicates with PCPs.
• Clinical support is provided by a medical assistant.
• Common diagnoses include hernias, GERD, rectal bleeding, gallbladder disease, colon polyps, hemorrhoids, cysts, dysphagia, breast conditions, diverticulitis, and skin lesions.
• Provides operative (both open and laparoscopic) and endoscopic procedures.

Schedule and EMR:

• Mondays - Office
• Tuesdays - OR
• Wednesdays - Office
• Thursdays - Office
• Fridays - Office (half day) or off
• Appointment durations: 15 min for established, 30 min for new patients, 30-45 min for procedures.
• Productivity: 12-18 patients/day, including 2-4 new patients/day.
• Call: 10 days/month, including one weekend.
• EMR: Meditech Expanse
