You will verify benefits, obtain authorizations, collect payments, and maintain accurate patient records. Strong organization, communication, and multitasking are essential in this ambulatory setting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Answer phones and triage calls.
• Schedule surgical procedures and prepare daily schedule.
• Verify patient benefits and obtain authorization as needed.
• Communicate financial responsibility to patient prior to surgery and document.
• Collect patient payments when applicable and post payments to patient record.
• Register all surgical patients and verify demographics and insurance at time of service.
• Prepare medical records in advance of service date and obtain pre-operative clearance when applicable.
• Coordinate anesthesia schedule and ensure coverage with contracted group.
• Arrange patient transportation and escort patients as needed.
• Maintain communication with all office-based schedulers and update changes promptly.
