Job summary

MedVet is seeking a licensed Veterinary Technician for Surgery/Anesthesia in our Vancouver, WA location. This on-site role supports a fast-paced team, coordinating patient histories, med administration, post-op care and client discussions.

The ideal candidate has state licensure, prior veterinary experience (surgery a plus), strong numerical skills and excellent written/verbal communication. Weekend coverage and ongoing training opportunities are included.

Qualifications

• State Registered Veterinary Technician license required.
• Prior veterinary experience required, surgery experience desired.
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, CRIs, unit conversions, etc.).
• Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage appointments, obtain patient histories, medical record keeping, invoicing, patient discharges, etc.
• Fill medications, enter charges and maintain accurate medical records, schedule appointments.
• Create patient releases, navigate client conversations around treatment plans and financial obligations.
• Prep patients for surgery, including shaving, scrubbing and positioning, assist with intubation and radiographs.
• Proficiently perform blood draws and submit bloodwork.
• Ensure documentation is accurate and complete.
• Opening, turning over and cleaning operating rooms, as well as cleaning instruments and wrapping packs.

We are looking for:

License Veterinary Technician- Surgery/Anesthesia

Schedule:

Wednesday- Saturday 8a-6p

Our Surgery team is a fast-paced environment, perfect for technicians that are looking for training in multiple facets of the department and interaction with the other teams in the hospital. This team requires strong communication skills to liaison between surgeons and clients and deliver post-operative care instructions.

What you’ll do:

Compensation:

This position has an initial hiring range of $24.00 to $40.00 per hour based on skillset and experience. We support our weekend and overnight caregivers with lucrative shift differentials:

• Hours worked between 8pm and 11:59pm = base pay + $2/hour
• Hours worked between 12am to 7:59am = base pay + $3/hour
• Hours worked on Weekends (day or night) = base pay +$1/hour + any applicable differential
