Job summary

Piedmont Henry Hospital is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to support patient care in the operating room across multiple specialties. The role performs technical duties and some patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Ideal candidates will have a Surgical Tech or LPN background, CST certification, and BCLS. GA licensure for an LPN, if applicable, is required upon hire, with opportunity for professional growth within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• H.S. diploma or GED is required.
• Graduate of Surgical Technology or LPN program is required.
• BCLS certification required upon hire.
• GA LPN license (if applicable) upon hire.

Responsibilities:

Facilitating patient care by assisting the physician during surgery in the Operating Room (OR) for multiple specialties, performing technical and some patient care duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Functions as a clinical specialist across numerous service specialty lines. Assumes additional responsibilities for maintaining surgical specialties as necessary and serves as a resource. Functions on a more global level and is more involved in detailed surgical endeavors related to the surgery department.

Qualifications:

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required and
• Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program or LPN program Required

Work Experience

• 3 years of expereince and Surgical Tech Certification Required or
• In lieu of degree 7 years of experience can be substituted for certification for a total requirement of 10 years of Surgical Tech experience. Required

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required and
• LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - State Licensure Current GA LPN License, if applicable Upon Hire Required or
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist Upon Hire Required
