Job summary

Piedmont HealthCare is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room across multiple specialties. The role involves assisting surgeons and performing technical tasks under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

The ideal candidate will have a Surgical Technology program graduate with SBLS certification and possibly a Surgical Technologist certification. Prior OR experience is preferred and critical for patient care excellence.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Graduate of a Surgical Technology program is required.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist or 3 years of surgical tech experience is required.
• BLS certification is required; certification as a Surgical Technologist is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates patient care by assisting the physician during surgery in the Operating Room (OR) for multiple specialties; performs technical and some patient care duties under RN direction.
• Serves as a clinical specialist across service specialty lines and acts as a resource for the department.
• Supports maintenance of surgical specialties and broader operating room initiatives.

Responsibilities

Facilitating patient care by assisting the physician during surgery in the Operating Room (OR) for multiple specialties, performing technical and some patient care duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Functions as a clinical specialist across numerous service specialty lines. Assumes additional responsibilities for maintaining surgical specialties as necessary and serves as a resource. Functions on a more global level and is more involved in detailed surgical endeavors related to the surgery department.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED: High School graduate or GED.
Graduate of a Surgical Technology program.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Certification as a Surgical Technologist or 3 years of surgical tech experience required.
