Job summary

Piedmont Henry Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist for the Evening shift in the Operating Room. The role supports the physician during surgery across multiple specialties and performs technical and some patient care duties under RN supervision.

Minimum education includes a Surgical Technology program completion and a High School diploma. Certification as a Surgical Technologist and BLS are required or preferred, with potential for growth within the Piedmont system.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED.
• Graduate of a Surgical Technology program.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist or 3 years of surgical tech experience.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist preferred.
• BLS certification required.

• Facilitating patient care by assisting the physician during surgery in the Operating Room (OR) for multiple specialties, performing technical and some patient care duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Functions as a clinical specialist across numerous service specialty lines.

RESPONSIBLE FOR:

Facilitating patient care by assisting the physician during surgery in the Operating Room (OR) for multiple specialties, performing technical and some patient care duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Functions as a clinical specialist across numerous service specialty lines. Assumes additional responsibilities for maintaining surgical specialties as necessary and serves as a resource. Functions on a more global level and is more involved in detailed surgical endeavors related to the surgery department.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:

• High School graduate or GED.
• Graduate of a Surgical Technology program.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Certification as a Surgical Technologist or 3 years of surgical tech experience required.

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:

• N/A

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Certification as a Surgical Technologist preferred
