Job summary

Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, LLC (SIMCO) seeks a Surface Electrician for Carlsbad, NM at the WIPP site. This USW bargaining unit role requires maintaining electrical systems up to 13,800 volts and adhering to safety policies, with respirator qualification and extensive field work.

Minimum: high school graduate and 5 years in electrical maintenance or 5 years of industrial electrical training. Candidates must be 18+, US citizen or qualified; underground mining experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or Equivalency is required.
• Five years of relevant electrical maintenance experience in a commercial/industrial environment, or five years of industrial electrical training/education is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment, mobile equipment, and power distribution systems up to 13,800 volts.
• Follow written work instructions and safety policies; pass Pulmonary Function Test to wear a respirator.
• Support surface and/or underground mining electrical activities at WIPP site.
