Job summary

IAT Insurance Group in Orlando, Florida is launching a Surety Senior Associate Underwriter Career Transition Program. The hybrid role combines training with hands-on underwriting, offered to candidates from diverse financial backgrounds seeking growth in surety underwriting.

During the program you will learn to assess bonds, analyze financial statements, and build relationships with agencies while collaborating with branch and home office teams.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree with 1–3 years of relevant experience in the financial sector or equivalent.
• Must have the ability to understand and analyze financial statements.
• The desire and ability to travel.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as demonstrated leadership, professionalism, organization and time management.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by employer, now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Assess legal documents including contracts, bond forms, General Agreements of Indemnity and similar documents.
• Evaluate the financial position of firms by analyzing their financial statements, job schedules and credit reports.
• Analyze a construction firm’s management and organizational capabilities to prosecute single projects and overall work program.
• Develop effective business relationships with agency partnerships.
• Closely interact with Branch Management and Home Office personnel.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

IAT Insurance Group has an opening for a Surety Senior Associate Underwriter in our Orlando, Florida location that will be a part of our Career Transition Program. This position works on a hybrid schedule, working Monday through Wednesday with the option of working remotely Thursday and Friday.

Upon completion of the training program the candidate will be prepared to:
