IAT Insurance Group in Orlando, FL is launching a Surety Senior Associate Underwriter Career Transition Program. This hybrid role offers mentorship, training, and hands-on experience in surety underwriting, with progression toward more independent underwriting responsibilities.

The program targets candidates from banking, mortgage finance, and related fields who are analytical, communicative, and eager to grow in surety underwriting. Travel is required for certain duties during the training.”

Responsibilities

• Assess legal documents including contracts, bond forms, and indemnity agreements.

• Develop business relationships with agency partners.
• Collaborate with Branch Management and Home Office personnel.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

IAT Insurance Group has an opening for a Surety Senior Associate Underwriter in our Orlando, Florida location that will be a part of our Career Transition Program. This position works on a hybrid schedule, working Monday through Wednesday with the option of working remotely Thursday and Friday.

As a Surety Senior Associate Underwriter, you'll be immersed in a collaborative environment where mentorship, training, and real‑world exposure come together to build a strong foundation for long‑term success. Upon completion of the training program the candidate will be prepared to:

• Assess legal documents including contracts, bond forms, General Agreements of Indemnity and similar documents.
• Evaluate the financial position of firms by analyzing their financial statements, job schedules and credit reports.
• Analyze a construction firm's management and organizational capabilities to prosecute single projects and overall work program.
• Develop effective business relationships with agency partnerships.
• Closely interact with Branch Management and Home Office personnel.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

• A four-year college degree with 1-3 years of relevant experience in the financial sector or equivalent applicable experience.
• Must have the ability to understand and analyze financial statements.
• The desire and ability to travel.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as demonstrated leadership, professionalism, organization and time management.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by employer, now or in the future.

*Current IAT employees must have been in their role for at least six months and must have received, at a minimum, a "Meets Expectations" during their performance review to be eligible for the program.
