Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking an on-site Fire Protection Route Technician in Lake Oswego, Oregon.

The role involves maintaining and growing a route servicing fire extinguishers, kitchen hoods, e-lights, and pre-engineered systems, with on-site inspection, service, repair, and installation per safety codes. The ideal candidate has 1+ years of Kitchen Hood experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver's license, plus mechanical aptitude and basic computer knowledge.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency required.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to transport equipment and tools weighing up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to work in restricted areas and maneuver ladders.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Occasional overnight travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and grow a route servicing fire extinguishers, kitchen hoods, e-lights and related systems.
• Inspect, service, repair and install multiple suppression product lines per safety requirements and manufacturer specs.
• Make recommendations based on manufacturer specifications and state/local codes.
• Identify deficiencies; quote, sell, and repair on-site.
• Upsell existing customers to new products and services to meet current fire code regulations.
• Sell new accounts on the route based on the same compliance criteria.
• Meet or exceed quotas set forth by the direct supervisor.
• Call on potential customers to offer suppression products and services.
• Upsell and cross-sell to meet compliance with fire code regulations.
