ACCEL Schools is seeking an Instructional Aide at Cleveland Sports Academy in Cleveland, OH. The role supports teachers, promotes a positive school climate, and assists with activities and student supervision.

The incumbent will help with clerical tasks, classroom technology, and field- or duty-related assignments, while maintaining a safe learning environment consistent with ACCEL Schools’ philosophy.

Qualifications

• Associate degree, two years of college coursework, or passing the Paraprofessional’s Exam.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Successful completion of BCI/FBI background check.
• Ability to meet educational standards as applicable.
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks.
• Ability to handle confidential information.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift 25–40 lbs.
• Experience in a school or social services setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supports lessons taught by the teacher to individual students or groups.
• Assists with planning classroom activities as directed by the Teacher.
• Participates in school activities (events, committees, etc.).
• Performs clerical duties (grading, copies).
• Assists with the use of classroom technology.
• Maintains cleanliness of classrooms and common areas.
• Adheres to the school’s philosophy and mission.
• Performs additional duties as assigned (field trips, duty, etc.).
• Works with the Teacher to promote positive student behavior.
