Job summary

ACCEL Schools seeks an Instructional Aide at Broadway Academy at Willow in Cleveland, Ohio to assist the Teacher with classroom activities and promote positive student behaviors in academics and extracurriculars.

The Instructional Aide provides oversight to ensure student safety and a positive school climate, supports school leaders and teachers, and assists with duties such as grading, chaperoning, and coordinating activities.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or two years of college coursework or passing the Paraprofessional’s Exam.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Successful completion of BCI/FBI check.
• Ability to meet educational standards and manage confidential information.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift 25–40 lbs.
• Experience in a school or social services setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supports lessons taught by the teacher to individual students or groups and follows instructional plans.
• Helps plan classroom activities and supports teacher in student/parent relations.
• Assists with school activities (events, meetings, assemblies, field trips, etc.).
• Performs clerical duties (grading papers, copies).
• Assists teachers with classroom technology.
• Maintains cleanliness of classrooms and common areas.
• Aligns with school philosophy and policies.
• Other duties such as field trips, morning/dismissal, lunch duty.
