Job summary

Capital City Sports Academy in Columbus, Ohio, is seeking an Instructional Aide to assist the Teacher with classroom activities and to promote positive student behavior in academics and extracurriculars. The role supports safety, school climate, and compliance with ACCEL Schools policies and state regulations.

Responsibilities include supporting lessons, planning activities, assisting with events, performing clerical tasks, and helping with classroom technology.

Qualifications

• Associate degree, two years of college coursework, or the passage of the Paraprofessional’s Exam.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Successful completion of BCI/FBI check.
• Ability to meet educational standards as applicable.
• Ability to work well under pressure and manage priorities to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Supports lessons taught by the teacher to individual students or groups and follows instructional plans.
• Helps plan classroom activities and supports the Teacher in all student and parent relations.
• Assists with school activities and events (parent nights, faculty meetings, assemblies, fundraisers, chaperoning, etc.).
• Performs clerical duties (grading papers, making copies).
• Assists the Teacher with classroom technology usage.
• Maintains cleanliness of the classroom, lunchroom and other areas.
• Follows the school's philosophy and policies in all activities.
• Other duties including field trips, duty assignments, and lunch/dismissal duties.
