Job summary

Harbor is seeking a part-time Job Coach to join our vocational team in the Defiance area. The position is contingent, and a valid driver’s license with insurability is required.

This role focuses on analyzing jobs, breaking them into trainable steps, and coaching clients toward employment goals. Responsibilities include individual/group coaching at WEP sites, assessing readiness, and providing education on benefits and employment advantages.

Qualifications

• Two years teaching/training experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree with teaching/training experience preferred.
• Must have valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and be deemed insurable through Harbor’s vehicle insurance carrier.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes jobs and work environments at WEP sites and worksites and breaks down jobs into trainable steps.
• Assesses client readiness for employment and formulates interventions to help progress toward recovery goals.
• Assists clients in identifying interests, skills, and aptitudes to explore vocational choices.
• Provides individual and/or group job coaching at WEP or work sites.
• Offers support and education (benefits counseling, advantages of employment) to clients, families, and others.
• Develops employment opportunities and helps clients learn job skills, individually or in groups.
• Supports participants to solve problems and manage barriers to participation (childcare resources, health care resources, etc.).

• Provides support, education (i.e., benefits counseling, advantages of employment) and consultation to clients, families, and/or significant others
• Actively develops employment opportunities and assists clients in learning job skills as needed, individually or in groups.
• Provides support to participants to assist them in problem solving and managing barriers to client participation (e.g., linking with childcare resources, health care resources, etc.).
