Job summary

Paulding County School District seeks a Support Technologist II to provide first- and second-line technology support across schools and administrative buildings. You will install, configure, and maintain computer equipment, software, and peripherals, and train end-users and staff.

Working under the Director of Technology Support Services, you will ensure devices and networks run smoothly, maintain records, and collaborate with site administrators.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred; combination with work experience may be substituted.
  • Technical certifications, training, and experience to demonstrate knowledge and abilities listed below.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in a technical service-related field.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity and cyber safety best practices.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in computer maintenance with a good understanding of network protocols and hardware.

Responsibilities

  • Provides first and secondary level user technology support for multiple schools and/or administrative buildings.
  • Maintains, installs, and configures computer equipment, peripherals, and software applications.
  • Maintains routine maintenance and records/logs.
  • Delivers training for computing devices and software to end-users and staff.
  • Provides escalated support and team leadership to other technology staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Superintendent or designee.

Job Summary:

The Support Technologist II is a vital and supportive member of the PCSD team, working collaboratively with educators, support staff, and administration to achieve the shared goal of ensuring all students receive the education they need to succeed both today and tomorrow. This role is performed within a school environment, overseen by the Director of Technology Support Services, where teamwork and dedication to student success are paramount.

All staff are expected to fully adhere to the ethical standards set forth by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission, continuously demonstrating a strong understanding of the tasks and responsibilities their roles require. Moreover, they must embody the core belief that every action we take is driven by a commitment to the best interests of our students.

Essential Functions
  • Provides first and secondary level user technology support for multiple schools and/or administrative buildings including the support of students and staff in the operation of computers, software, and peripherals to include but not limited to standard classroom and office technical equipment such as various computer models, printers, phones, and interactive flat panels
  • Maintains, installs, and configures computer equipment, peripherals, and software applications
  • Maintains routine maintenance and other necessary records or logs
  • Facilitates the operation, organization, supervision of the computers, peripherals, and software for designated areas
  • Assists users in the operation of computers, peripherals, programs, and other classroom and office technology
  • Maintains cooperative working relationships and good customer service with those contacted in the course of work including daily communication with site administrators and office staff
  • Assists in the establishment of procedures for computer equipment and software use
  • Ensures all computer-related devices are operational
  • Maintains accurate inventory of records for all equipment and software
  • Documents user instructions for technology devices and software
  • Delivers training for computing devices and software to end-users and other support staff
  • Provides escalated support help and team leadership to other technology support personnel
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Superintendent or designee/supervisor
