Job summary

The Family Care Network, Inc. (FCNI) is a nonprofit delivering comprehensive behavioral health and social services across San Luis Obispo County. The Support Specialist role supports clients and families with case plans, coping skills, and community resources under supervision.

Position is hybrid in San Luis Obispo, pays hourly with two levels (I and II). Includes a 10% Spanish bilingual differential where applicable, on-call compensation, mileage reimbursement, and eligibility for

Qualifications

• Support Specialist I requires an Associate degree; Bachelor's in related field preferred.
• Support Specialist II requires Associate degree plus 6 years in Behavioral Health or a Bachelor's plus 4 years.
• Excellent communication, time management, and confidentiality skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct behavioral support and use evidence-based interventions.
• Teach life skills such as personal hygiene and meal planning.
• Provide psychoeducation on mental health and substance use topics.
• Engage clients in meaningful activities and transport to resources.
• Offer coping strategies for crisis situations and safety planning.
• Train families and caregivers in behavior management strategies.
• Monitor client progress and adjust plans as needed and participate in after-hours on-call.
