Support Services Supervisor

We are currently seeking a Support Services Supervisor in the Support Services Department to identify, coordinate, and oversee the delivery of services that enhance the health, safety, and wellbeing of participants, helping them achieve maximum independence.
THE POSITION
CareStar is looking for motivated individuals who:
- Hold a Bachelor's Degree.
- Have a minimum of one year of post-degree experience working with individuals with diagnosed chronic conditions, or at least three years of experience working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness.
- Possess knowledge of issues affecting people with severe and persistent mental illness and community-based interventions/resources for these individuals.
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal (oral and written) skills to interact professionally and ethically with all age groups from diverse backgrounds, including differing intellectual, cultural, ethnic, psychosocial, and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Can utilize critical thinking and independent judgment, along with multiple data points, to identify issues, develop solutions, and meet requirements.
- Are familiar with Microsoft Office programs.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and car insurance as required by State law.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyze reports within CareStar to make effective plans and decisions.
- Make calls to assess participant eligibility according to program-specific criteria and timeframes, referring non-eligible participants to appropriate community resources.
- Explain criteria and application processes for waiver programs, Medicaid, and other community programs to staff and callers in need of services.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of consumer and employee information.
- Handle returned documents correctly and provide necessary instructions to staff.
- Accurately document calls and relevant information in the company’s electronic systems.
- Participate in and sometimes lead cross-training efforts to ensure adequate coverage for administrative tasks.
- Maintain open communication with program staff.
- Enter information accurately into CareStar and program-specific applications.
- Participate in and support various work groups, community committees, and meetings.
- Contribute to sales presentations, RFPs, RFIs, and proposals.
- Assist other departments (HR, Finance, IT) with process and project tasks as needed.
- Engage in quality improvement activities like chart audits and project teams.
- Perform other projects and duties as assigned.
