Position: Support Services Coordinator

Reports To: Associate Director of Programs & Advocacy

Type: Full-Time

Position Summary: The Support Services Coordinator (Coordinator) is a position within Girls Inc.’s Out-of-School Time (OST) program with a focus on increasing student accessibility at a school-based OST site. The Coordinator will work with program staff to complete and support Student Accommodation plans. This includes connecting students and their families to the relevant supports such as connections to health resources (mental, behavioral or physical), immunizations, parenting classes, benefits access, food resources, transportation, clothing, etc. This position will also provide support ensuring student participants have the accessibility support they need to participate in summer OST programs.

Responsibilities
General Responsibilities
  • Complete Girls Inc. and School District of Philadelphia’s approved training on accessible and inclusive program development.
  • Collaborate with the Site Director to create an inclusive environment in the Out-of-School Time (OST) Program.
  • Assist the Site Director in creating training plans for staff on Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), Behavior Management, and Differentiated Learning.
  • Conduct student needs assessments during registration or referrals from the Site Director or parents/caregivers.
  • Lead the development of individualized plans with the Site Director, parents/caregivers, and other stakeholders to enhance student engagement.
  • Monitor the implementation of support plans and provide monthly written reports.
  • Identify and coordinate program-level support, including staff training, technical assistance, and assistive technologies to promote student success.
  • Assist families with registration for external services.
  • Support family engagement and outreach initiatives led by site directors.
  • Develop and maintain a resource directory for students and families.
  • Advocate for families with English as a second language to facilitate program engagement and translation support.
  • Build relationships with school administrators and teaching staff by spending time on-site to foster collaboration.
  • Create and implement procedures for tracking program documentation, including logs, attendance, records, and surveys for evaluation and reporting purposes.
  • Collect, enter, and monitor resources and outcomes related to student progress.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Fosters relationships with school/site administrators and teaching staff to enhance and develop a collaborative work plan.
  • Supports the planning and coordination of special projects, events, presentations, and outings.
  • Attends events that support the organization’s mission.
  • Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Two or more years of experience in early intervention, early childhood special education, social work, early childhood education, child development, special education, family counseling, family studies, social welfare, psychology, or other comparable social sciences.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of students in a diverse community.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and individually.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Must submit up-to-date clearances (FBI criminal, Child Abuse History Verification, State criminal and National Sex Offender Registry Verification).
Required Certifications and Clearances
  • BA/BS in Social Work or a closely related field (e.g. social services, sociology, psychology, theology, education, criminal justice, human services, and public administration)
  • Pediatric CPR/ First Aid/ AED Certification
  • PA Child abuse clearance, FBI clearance, PA State Criminal, and National Sex Offender verification

Location: Hybrid work schedule. Must be able to report to program site daily. Must be able to commute to Girls Inc. at the Bok Building (South Philadelphia) and other school-based locations as required.

Compensation: The salary for this position is $48,000. We offer full-time employees comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, a 403B retirement plan, and Paid Time off.
