Job summary

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System in Sarasota, FL seeks a billing specialist to post payments for physician services in a timely and accurate manner. You will verify modifiers and CPT-4 codes to secure proper reimbursement.

The ideal candidate has experience with Medicare/Medicaid billing, Windows-based software, and strong problem-solving and communication skills. This on-site role supports the Support Services group in downtown Sarasota, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• HS: High School Diploma, GED or Certificate.
• Experience with Windows-based software preferred.
• Experience in financial/banking environment preferred.
• Knowledge of managed care remittance/adjustment processes preferred.
• Experience with Medicare/Medicaid and commercial billing/collections preferred.
• Typing 30 wpm for CRT/PC input preferred.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding preferred.
• Ability to analyze problems and follow through to resolution.
• Ability to communicate clearly and handle difficult situations diplomatically.
• Strong math, organization and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• - Prefer two (2) years of experience in utilizing Windows-based software applications.
• - Prefer previous financial or banking experience.
• - Prefer basic knowledge of Managed Care remittance and adjustment process.
• - Prefer one (1) year of experience working with Medicare, Medicaid and commercial billing and collections.
• - Prefer the ability to type 30 words per minute for CRT and PC input.
• - Prefer general knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
• - Prefer the ability to analyze problems and consistently follow through to resolution.
• - Prefer the ability to meet and greet public and handle difficult situations diplomatically.
• - Prefer the ability to speak clearly and distinctly.
