Job summary

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is seeking a Billing Clerk to accurately post payments for physician services, review modifiers and CPT-4 codes, and ensure timely reimbursements. Qualifications

• Require two (2) years of experience working with Medicare, Medicaid and commercial billing and collections.
• Require the ability to analyze problems and consistently follow through to resolution.
• Require the ability to meet and greet public and handle difficult situations diplomatically.
• Require a clear and distinct speaking voice.
• Require the ability to operate an adding machine quickly and accurately by touch.
• Require the ability to use standard office equipment.
• Require basic mathematical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Require basic knowledge of Managed Care remittance and adjustment process.

Responsibilities

• Post payments for physician services in a timely manner and ensure accurate reimbursement.
• Review modifiers and CPT-4 codes for proper usage.
• Analyze remittances and denials to ensure correct posting.
• Calculate and post contractual allowances to minimize AR.
• Handle incoming/outgoing mail and respond to inquiries.
• Stay compliant with third-party regulations and keep fee schedules current.
• Interact with FPG Physicians, Office Managers, CBO staff and other SMH staff on posting issues.
• Demonstrate customer service recovery and adapt to department growth.
