Job summary

Alverno Laboratories in Hammond, IN seeks a Central Laboratory - Support Services team member to help meet the technical departments’ TAT and quality goals while maintaining a compassionate, healing environment for staff and patients.

You will resolve pending specimens, perform add-on testing, and address specimen rejections, with a Monday–Friday shift 7:00 AM–3:30 PM and rotating weekends/holidays; requires a high school diploma, typing 40 wpm, and 10-key experience.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Typing at least 40 wpm; 10-key experience required.
• Must have computer experience.
• Background in medical terminology or billing/coding preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in meeting the technical departments' turn-around time and quality requirements.
• Resolve/troubleshoot pending specimens, complete add-on testing, and resolve specimen rejections.
• Maintain a healing environment for employees and patients in line with the organization's values.

This individual is required to assist in meeting the technical departments TAT and Quality requirements. This individual is responsible for resolving/troubleshooting pending specimens, completing add-on testing, and resolving any specimen rejections. This individual shall maintain a healing environment for employees and patients with a spirit of caring and concern as incorporated in the philosophy of our Catholic healthcare systems while performing all job functions.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Typing skills (at least 40 wpm). 10 key experience required.
• Computer experience required.
• A background in medical laboratory and/or knowledge of medical terminology, and/or billing and coding are strongly preferred.
