Community Consolidated School District 59 is seeking a Community Outreach Specialist (District-Wide) to strengthen student achievement by engaging families across the district. The role emphasizes building strong relationships, visiting families in their homes, and supporting SEL initiatives.

This 10-month position (8 hours/day, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) offers hourly pay ($21.53–$22.84) and accrues IMRF pension benefits, holidays, and insurance.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English and Spanish preferred.
• Experience in community/family engagement preferred.

Position Objective: To enhance student achievement by engaging families of students in the educational process through strong relationship building; visiting families in their homes, assisting with family and community engagement events, delivering social and emotional support and instruction to families and students, and supporting the Director of SEL & Student Equity and building administrators.
Terms of Employment: Work Year: 10 months
Hours Per Day: 8 Start/End Times: 8:00a - 4:30p
Work Year: 7/23/26 - 6/7/27 (200 Work Days / 212 Paid Days)
Compensation: Specialist Assistant - Type 1 (hourly pay range based on experience: $21.53 - $22.84)
Participates in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) pension fund (reciprocal pension with TRS)
Eligible for paid holidays, time off benefits and medical/dental insurance benefits
Must have the ability to travel to/from various locations in the district as needed
Location may change based on the needs of students
Oral and written fluency in English and Spanish preferred
