Job summary

Community Consolidated School District 59 seeks a District-Wide Community Outreach Specialist to engage families, visit homes, support family and community events, and provide social and emotional support to families and students. The role supports the Director of SEL & Student Equity and building administrators.

The position requires travel to/from various locations in the district, fluency in English and Spanish preferred, and involves 10 months of work with 8 hours per day.

Position Objective

To enhance student achievement by engaging families of students in the educational process through strong relationship building; visiting families in their homes, assisting with family and community engagement events, delivering social and emotional support and instruction to families and students, and supporting the Director of SEL & Student Equity and building administrators.

Terms of Employment

Work Year: 10 months

Hours Per Day: 8 Start/End Times: 8:00a - 4:30p

Work Year: 7/23/26 - 6/7/27 (200 Work Days / 212 Paid Days)

Compensation: Specialist Assistant - Type 1 (hourly pay range based on experience: $21.53 - $22.84)

Participates in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) pension fund (reciprocal pension with TRS)

Eligible for paid holidays, time off benefits and medical/dental insurance benefits

Must have the ability to travel to/from various locations in the district as needed

Location may change based on the needs of students

Oral and written fluency in English and Spanish preferred
