Job summary

ISI is seeking a proactive Support Engineer I to join our IT team in Herndon, VA. This role focuses on delivering first-line IT support, monitoring system health, and ensuring compliance with security standards such as CMMC and NIST 800-171.

The position offers a flexible hybrid schedule and opportunities for growth. Candidates should have 2–4 years in IT support, hold or be eligible for an interim security clearance, and possess certifications such as CompTIA A+, ITIL 4 Foundation, and MS-900.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years working in an IT Support Focused role (minimum).
• CompTIA A+ certification.
• ITIL 4 Foundation certification.
• MS-900 Microsoft 365 Fundamentals certification.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Commercial & GCC/GCC-High), Azure AD, and Teams.
• Experience with Google Workspace, VPNs, DNS, and mobile device management.
• Experience troubleshooting basic hardware & software issues.
• Experience utilizing ticketing systems and remote management tools.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and time management abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
• Experience with SLAs and SOP creation.
• Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to troubleshooting and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line support for all requests, including email troubleshooting and password resets.
• Perform basic administrative tasks in Azure, Google Workspace, and ticketing systems.
• Troubleshoot Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems.
• Assist with setting up and configuring desktops, laptops, monitors, and peripherals.
• End user management and account provisioning.
• Diagnose and escalate issues as needed.
• Conduct proactive system health checks to maintain operations.
• Collaborate with team to resolve issues efficiently.
• Follow and improve standardized processes and checklists.
• Two shifts available: 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. ET or 11:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. ET.
