Support Broker (Part-Time) – The Arc Madison Cortland

The Arc Madison Cortland offers a part‑time Support Broker position. As a Support Broker you will work directly with individuals with developmental disabilities to develop, manage, and monitor self‑directed budgets and services, ensuring compliance with Medicaid and NYS standards.

SUMMARY

Assist individuals in developing a self‑directed budget and ongoing management, and direct the budget in accordance with the approved plan.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Promote person‑centered planning by working with the individual and their circle of support to develop a self‑directed budget and staff action plan.
• Maintain and update the self‑directed budget and staff action plan based on individual needs and preferences.
• Provide support and training to individuals and their circle of support regarding ongoing decisions, responsibilities, and tasks associated with self‑direction.
• Facilitate two face‑to‑face planning meetings a year to review and update the self‑directed budget and staff action plans.
• Properly document services provided and maintain all plans and records according to Medicaid and NYS standards.
• Monitor self‑direction expenditures to ensure that spending does not exceed the self‑directed budget.

REQUIREMENTS

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in a health/human service field or RN preferred, with at least one year of experience working with people with developmental disabilities. An Associate’s degree in a health/human services field with at least two years of such experience may also be considered.
