Job description

Job Overview:

The Support Aide position is responsible for cleaning patient rooms, offices, corridors, utility rooms, and other assigned areas of the hospital. Responsibilities include dusting, wiping, polishing, and mopping assigned areas. The role also involves collecting soiled linen from patient areas and disposing of it in the utility room for laundry pickup. Additionally, the Support Aide assists with room and furniture setup, floor stripping and refinishing, operating the Chariot burnishing machine, and carpet shampooing.

Qualifications:

Preferred:

• High School Diploma (preferred but not required)

Scheduling Requirements:

• Shift: 10:30pm-7:00am
• Work two days during the week
• Every other weekend and holiday required

Essential Functions:

• Clean patient rooms, offices, corridors, utility rooms, and other areas
• Dust surfaces, wipe furniture, and clean and polish fixtures in bathrooms
• Remain on their feet most of the workday, including bending, stooping, and stretching
• Observe and report equipment or furniture repairs; respond to fire and disaster drills
• Buff or burnish floors using 17 and 20 machines, including rotary buffers
• Collect soiled linen and transport it to the laundry area
• Collect, replace, and store medical waste and sharps containers as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Dust mops, damp mops, and vacuum carpets across the hospital
• Empty trash and waste baskets, and transport trash to collection points
• Perform special cleaning projects (air induction units, light fixtures, windows, etc.)
• Collaborate positively with coworkers to achieve hospital goals
• Move furniture and set up meeting rooms
• Assist with spill cleanup and maintain equipment cleanliness and functionality
• Prioritize safety for all persons (patients, visitors, staff)
