Job summary

Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami is hiring for a café department role within our nutrition services team. The position supports daily operations, ensures safe, accurate handling of food items, and helps deliver quality patient and staff meals.

You will perform receive-and-store duties, verify shipments, maintain temperature checks, and collaborate with dietary staff to maintain compliance and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Hospital food service experience preferred, but on-the-job training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Verifies shipment accuracy by counting, weighing or measuring items against invoices or packing slips.
• Inspects items for damages or defects such as spoilage, dents or breakage.
• Performs temperature checks of potentially hazardous foods.
• Attaches invoices to purchase orders and forwards to Dietary Office.
• Prioritizes storage of received items; stocks frozen and refrigerated items first.
• Stocks room-temperature items last.
• Moves items from receiving area to proper storage using hand truck or pallet jack.

Job Description Summary: Position Responsibilities

• Performs temperature checks of potential hazardous foods.
• Attaches invoice to purchase order and forward to Dietary Office for recording.
• Prioritizes storage of items received, stocking frozen and refrigerated items immediately upon receipt.
• Stock grocery items stored at room temperature last.
• Carries, hand truck or pallet jack items from receiving area to proper storage areas.
