Job summary

Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach is seeking a hospital food service supervisor to lead the dining operations. You will ensure staff are trained, maintain performance docs, and monitor daily trayline quality to support patient care.

The role emphasizes scheduling, safety, sanitation, and strict food handling practices, while maintaining on-time tray delivery and accurate inventory. This position offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities in a large, private nonprofit hospital.

Qualifications

  • Experience in hospital food service is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures staff is trained and competent before assignment to a particular position.
  • Keeps documentation of employee's performance to use during evaluation and counseling.
  • Enforces disciplinary actions and provides accurate and complete documentation.
  • Monitors job takes and offers suggestions to improve efficiency.
  • Works with employees in order to increase their level of productivity.
  • Keeps track of employees' attendance and punctuality.
  • Follows up on any problems related to security, safety and/or sanitation.
  • Is competent in scheduling of employees based on census, minimizes overtime, and informs subordinate when adjustments are made to posted schedules.
  • Always starts the patient trayline on time.
  • Quality of food is checked for taste, temperature and portion size.
  • Ensures that cleaning procedures are followed.
  • Enforces proper dress code and proper use of gloves, aprons, and hair restrains. Enforces appropriate food handling procedures to ensure food safety.
  • Monitors accuracy of patient trays and floor stock supply delivery.
  • Monitors refrigerators/freezers for proper food storage (wrapping, labeling, dating).
  • Reports safety hazards and defective equipment immediately.
  • Maintains accurate and a complete documentation of temperature logs, floor stock supply, and other reports.
