Job Title: Supply Planner
Location: Vista, CA
Duration: 6+ Months
Pay Rate: $30-$32/hr W2
Position Summary
We are seeking a Supply Planning Specialist to support supply and demand planning activities within a regulated manufacturing environment. This role will be responsible for balancing supply and demand, optimizing inventory levels, developing production and capacity plans, identifying supply constraints, and supporting timely product availability.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in supply/production planning, SAP, and Excel, along with the ability to analyze complex planning scenarios and develop effective contingency strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain supply plans to meet forecasted demand while optimizing inventory and minimizing excess inventory and obsolescence.
- Coordinate raw material and component availability to support production requirements.
- Develop and execute capacity plans based on manufacturing requirements, production constraints, and available resources.
- Analyze demand forecasts to identify potential supply shortages, production bottlenecks, and capacity constraints.
- Develop alternative strategies and contingency plans to address supply or production disruptions.
- Monitor finished goods, work-in-progress, raw materials, lead times, lot sizes, and inventory levels.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to align production plans with supply requirements and available capacity.
- Prepare short- and long-term production and supply plans and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Work with Purchasing, Quality, Regulatory, Commercial, Finance, and Manufacturing teams on product changes, demand changes, launches, and supply requirements.
- Support new product introductions, BOM changes, process changes, validation activities, and production planning initiatives.
- Identify supply constraints and proactively develop mitigation plans to minimize disruptions.
- Utilize SAP for supply planning, inventory management, and related planning activities.
- Prepare and present supply planning KPIs, reports, and analytical findings.
- Analyze supply scenarios and assess the potential impact of supply decisions across products and production lines.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement planning improvements.
- Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives related to supply chain and manufacturing operations.
- Support continuous improvement of planning processes, reporting, and systems.
- Work effectively with stakeholders at different organizational levels to achieve supply, production, and delivery objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Science, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in Supply Planning, Production Planning, or a similar manufacturing planning environment.
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP ERP.
- Strong MS Excel skills with experience in data analysis, forecasting, and planning.
- Experience with production planning, supply planning, capacity planning, and inventory management.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing constraints, lead times, WIP, finished goods, and raw materials.
- Experience developing supply scenarios, contingency plans, and mitigation strategies.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong ability to collaborate, negotiate, and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex, changing variables.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, biological, or other regulated manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of cGMP and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with Power BI or Tableau.
- Experience with MRP, BOM management, production scheduling, or capacity planning.
- Experience supporting new product launches or manufacturing process changes.
- APICS, CPIM, or similar supply chain certification.
- Experience working with global supply or production planning teams.
