This position is located within a National Interagency Support Cache.

This position serves as manager of a National Interagency Support Cache (NISC) providing supplies and equipment to federal, state and tribal governments and international organizations during natural disasters.

Specialized Experience Requirement:

For the GS-11: You must have one year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09grade in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined three or more of the following:

• Managing activities for the procurement, storage, refurbishment, and shipment of equipment and supplies in support of fire suppression and emergency activities; and/or
• Developing and maintaining cache management plans and incident support policies, guidelines, and standards; and/or
• Preparing cache management and fire loss information reports for all incidents; and/or
• Coordinating emergency situations and establishing levels of personnel and equipment; and/or
• Recommending changes and revisions in cache management program.

OR

A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. The education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.

OR

An appropriate combination of specialized experience and graduate level education (beyond what is required for a master's degree, i.e., more than 36 semester hours leading to a Ph.D.).

GS-12:

Applicants must have (1) one year equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined three or more of the following:

• Planning, budgeting, administering, and managing an incident support cache; and/or
• Providing support to functional areas, such as supplies, storage and distribution, supply systems development, hazardous materials, and small engine repair; and/or
• Evaluating personnel, budget, and material resource requirements to develop project work plans; and/or
• Participating in the review and evaluation of cache and inventory program operations to plan for adequacy, efficiency, and safety; and/or
• Coordinating the procurement, receipt, manufacturing, storage, management, packaging, shipment, return, and/or refurbishment of supplies and equipment needs for emergency operations.
